The result of an exploration of development potential on a dual street fronting property in Kingsland.

“Special Character” controls protect against demolition, subdivision and higher density development – however with a small reduction in size to the existing character cottage to a “minor dwelling” – a loop hole is realised and the opportunity for an all-new “primary dwelling” build is found.

The new construction housing modern living is proposed with double gable roof and horizontal white painted timber boards as a contemporary “nod” to Kingsland’s villa/cottage character.

The original cottage is altered to provide two bedrooms and a modern living space.
