The Loop

Status: Construction (completion early 2019)
Design Architect:  Studio John Irving Architects
Detail Architect: Sayes Jackson Architects

A narrow site, planning restrictions which encourage removable buildings supported on posts and a strong desire to capture expansive views of Waihi beach led to the design of this linear, floating and metal clad dwelling.  The dwelling is articulated along its length via screening elements and steps in the building form which separates internal program, opens bedrooms to private exteriors and brings nature in.

The Loop is a collaborative project on which Sayes Jackson Architects is leading the technical resolve, detailing and articulation of a Studio John Irving design.
