Sited one row back from the beach – this linear and metal-clad holiday home is elevated on steel posts to capture views of Waihi Beach. A rooftop deck exploits views along the full expanse of the beach from Orokawa Scenic Reserve to the North and Mt Maunganui to the South.
The dwelling is articulated along its length with steps in the building’s envelope to separate internal program, to offer access to private exteriors from bedrooms, and to incorporate landscaping elements within the building’s form.
This project began in the offices Studio John Irving and continued in its design development and detail design by Sayes Jackson Architects.
